We connect learners and researchers across all of Ireland to education resources and to fellow national educational and research networks in Europe, and the rest of the world. We are looking for an Events and Marketing Specialist to join the PR & Marketing Team.

What the PR & Marketing team does

The PR & Marketing team is part of the Client Services function within HEAnet. The team works closely with the HEAnet clients and is responsible for raising awareness of HEAnet, our services and initiatives. Our responsibilities include designing and implementing various communication campaigns and initiatives, arranging events and workshops for clients, organising the annual HEAnet Conference, client surveys, creating website content, drafting press releases, news stories, newsletters, and social media.

Reporting to the PR & Marketing Manager, our new team member will work as part of the team to prepare and deliver events and workshops as well as create content (for example: news items, press releases, website content and social media content). You will also work with our clients, collaborate with other HEAnet teams and external suppliers.

This role is based in our office in Dublin 1 however, we have a hybrid work framework in place which will allow you to do some work from home if you choose to do so. Some travel may be required as part of this role. On different days of the week, any team member may be working from home, so we use tools like Microsoft Teams to keep in touch.

What you get from us

From the team

We value knowledge sharing and communication. We have regular team meetings to share what we are all working on and to share with one another what is happening across Client Services and the company. You will also have a 1:1 meeting with your manager on a regular basis. We have frequent presentations from anyone in the company on a wide range of topics from technical demos to project management to mental health.

We encourage critical thinking and the exploration of new ideas. We often form cross-team special interest groups for specific topic discussions, both ongoing and for fixed projects. By design we encourage that the engineering standards that we set are influenced from the ground up, as the people working within the standards are the ones most informed.

We provide a diverse and interesting workload but limit single performance objectives to a max of 30%, so you will get to work on multiple projects and marketing initiatives each year.

We promote a healthy work/life balance. Work outside of standard hours is rare and agreed in advance. We take the care of our team members' mental health seriously.
